What are the best western movies?If you were a kid and you’ve watched any of the John Wayne or Clint eastwood’s classic western films then i bet you would have dreamed once in your life of becoming one of them cool cowboys even if them were Outlaws. This is the beauty of western genre that even a villain is presented in such way that he is able to gain sympathy of audience, in fact become role model for some.
For those who don’t know about the ‘Western’ Genre – Western films are those that are set in the west side of America, has scenic beauty of the western deserts of America and usually follows an Outlaw or Gunslinger (bounty hunter) who either go for a gold heist or train robbery or has a duel gun fight with an evil villain and his gang. Western films portrays cowboys heroes and villains and have their own language. For example they use “Them” for the word “They”. Usually western films are set during the period of American Civil War and the characters have a very vivid fashion sense. Several western movies portrayed real life characters like Billy the Kid.
Western films were first introduced in the 1920s and the genre was quiet popular until the 1960s. But after that the popularity of western films declined and very handful of good western films were made from 1970 to til date. Many actors gained a wide fan following just because of their roles in Western movies.One Good example is Clint Eastwood. Many directors worked on several sub genres of Western films, most popular being Spaghetti Western.
