What are the best 00s movies? The Decade of 00s sparked several new trends in the Film Industry. Not only have several sub genres become hugely popular among film goers but also the standard of acting changed. Actors with chiseled and muscular body were preferred more over actors with a normal physique. Thanks to Brad Pitt and Christian Bale who were not only praised for their acting but also for their alpha male physiques in Fight Club and American Psycho. It inspired several other actors and the many popular actors were seen in six packs or eight packs in the 00s decade. Also actors like Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Daniel Day-Lewis gave a new edge to method acting where not only the emotions but the also the look of the character matters.
The decade of 00s made several sub genres popular and the most popular among them was Zombie Sub Genre. Hundreds of Zombie movies were released in the 00s decade and many of them gained a huge cult following. Zombie movies performed much better than slasher movies (both sub genres of Horror) in the 00s decade.
Another Sub Genre that found new heights of fame and fan following in the 00s decade was SUPERHERO genre. The decade saw near about 50 plus superhero movies and almost all of them was blockbuster on box office. This was not surprising to Box office pundits as the technology was highly developed in the 00s and everyone was expecting that Superhero movies will be loved by fans more than any other genre.
Apocalyptic, Disaster and Post apocalyptic movies were also loved by fans. But if you take a look on the highest grossing film of the 00s decade you will find that the list is full of Animated movies. Fans loved CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) movies and Film Production studios like DreamWorks, Disney and Pixar took full benefit of it. Fantasy movies were also loved by fans and I would say lucky were the kids who grew up with Harry Potter in the 00s.
The leading directors of Hollywood in the 00s decade were – Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson, Ang Lee, Clint Eastwood, Danny Boyle and Steven Soderbergh. Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, James Cameroon and Martin Scorsese added more classic films under their badge in the 00s decade. The Most popular actors of 00s decade were – Johnny Depp, Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Heath Ledger, Sean Penn, Christian Bale, Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Daniel Radcliffe and Robert Pattinson. The Most Popular actresses of 00s decade were – Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Charlize Theron, Hilary Swank, Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox, Reese witherspoon, Kate Winslet and Sandra Bullock.
Here is the list of Top 100 Greatest Films from the 00s decade:
