The 1960s gave way to romantic comedies but it was the 1970s that actually made the sub-genre much much popular, not only among the fans but among the production companies too. The decade of 1980s focused on Teen Romance specially High School Romance and College Romance films. Undoubtedly such films gained wide fan base in later decades. The decade of 1990s focused more on epic romance and produced some of the finest romantic movies after the black and white era. Romantic Tragedies were more popular in this decade. In the 00s decade, instead of showing fantasy romance films, film producers focused more on real life romantic relationships. Thus show casing and experimenting various aspects of relationships.
