Greatest Epic Films of All Time
What are the best epic movies? It is hard to describe epic movies in few words. First of all it should be cleared that Epic movies are not at all equal to big budget movies, even though most of the movie lovers relate them together. Epic films are usually considered those that focus on human emotions at large scale and brings a larger than life picture out of them. Epic films generally have a scenario where the survival of whole world depends on the deeds of the central hero and villain. But they are not confined to this limit only. Epic films generally do not have just one hero or one villain but have strong supporting characters that often act as anti-hero or anti-villain or dark horses of the main story.
Epic films have a larger than life story telling and they surely requires big budget to produce them. They often have stories that are almost unbelievable but interestingly can not be denied either. Epic films are often related to fantasy movies but there are many great examples where the films were inspired or were actually based on real life events (For example Apollo 13). The way of story telling plays a vital role in epic movies. One perfect example of epic story telling is Homer’s Odyssey.
