The year 2014 was average year for the film industry. Unlike previous years, 2014 didn’t saw many movies touching the golden $1 billion mark. Only one film ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ was able to make to the club of $1 Billion. The year didn’t had many classic movies like 2012 or 2013. In fact the whole year was setting up momentum for movies of 2015 and 2016. Film magazines gossiped about movies like Star Wars VII, Batman Vs Superman and The Avengers 2 for the whole year.
Thankfully there were some fresh movies like Birdman and Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. Guardians of the Galaxy was a sleeper hit and made Chris Pratt a star overnight. Like previous years (and many years to come) 2014 was year of Superhero genre. Almost all superhero films released this year did good business at box office. The year saw the release of last part of The Hobbit Trilogy. The most anticipated film of the year was Interstellar but it was not the finest work of Christopher nolan.
