After 30 Years The Goonies are Back Again

The charm of 80s movies just can not end. Probably this is the reason why there are so many remakes, sequels and reboots of hit 80s movies. The latest in the lineup is Steven Spielberg’s 1985 hit film The Goonies. Directed by Richard Donner and Written By Chris Columbus, The Goonies was not only recalled as one of the best kids movies but also cited as one of the greatest film released in the 80s decade. Ever Since the film gained a cult fan following there has been rumors (or better say demands of Sequel). The Good News is – Its finally happening after 30 years. But wait the Good news just does not end here. If sources are to be believed then you might see the whole old cast back in their roles in The Goonies 2.

There has been rumors rounding the internet and News since 2004 that The Goonies might see a sequel. Though Most of the cast denied the sequel stating that Warner Bros. do not want a sequel. But in recent years the rumor became stronger when most of cast and the director producer themselves showed interest in a sequel. Steven Spielberg himself said in an interview that there is a potential in The Goonies sequel and with right story and cast he will surely go for it.

Recently in an Interview with TMZ director Richard Donner himself has confirmed that he is actually working on the script of The Goonies 2 and will try his best to return with original cast. Sean Astin, Josh Brolin and Corey Feldman has showed interest in the sequel from time to time. If the project actually took place then The Goonies 2 will surely become one of the most anticipated film.

The Goonies was about a group of pre teens who go one a Spanish treasure hunt based on a 17th century map. The film became very popular among kids and bringing back those good old memories will surely work for The Goonies 2. If you haven’t seen the original til now then i highly recommend it. The Goonies is a great film to watch in sweaty summers.
