Danmachi Season 2 is in talks since 2015 but the recent English dubbed release of light novel Danjon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Daro ka in December 2017 has further fuelled the debate on whether we will get a second season or not.
First of all let me clear you that if you are thinking anime series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Sword Oratoria as a direct sequel to Danmachi Season 1 then you are totally wrong. The 12 episodes spin-off only featured Bell’s girlfriend Ais’s adventures. In fact, the whole season is set during the time period before Ais and Bell met. So it totally ignored our two favorite characters Bell and Hestia (Hail Hestia!).
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Sword Oratoria is actually based on the spin-off light novel series of the same name, so don’t dub it as Danmachi season 2. There is actually another spin-off light novel series as well which might get its own anime adaption but both are way different from the main storyline.
We are yet to get answers on whether Bell and Ais save themselves from the monsters of the h0t spring? Also, what will happen between Bell and Hestia, as she is getting more and more jealous of Ais.
Thankfully Fujino omori, the original creator of the series cleared air on the second season of Danmachi in December 2017 when he revealed that writer Hideki Shirane is currently working on the script of the second season.
Sentai Filmworks also admitted that they are aware of the popularity of Danmachi series in Japan as well as English native countries. The Studio has expressed its interest in releasing Danmachi Season 2 soon, however, it avoided any direct indication of exact release date.

The anime series is adapted from the light novel series of the same name which was published and released by Fujino Omori in January 2013. The character of goddess Hestia instantly connected with fans and become one of the most popular female anime characters worldwide.
The series follows adventures of Bell Cranel in a Dungeon. It is set in a fictional city of Oraio during a time when all gods have decided to lose their powers and live on earth. The only power they have is to bless human beings so that they can level up their powers. Yes, it is like a video game.
However, the human beings do not live like normal people but like adventurers who have to complete various missions and go on several quests. They level up thus increasing their powers and abilities.
They are divided among various families each belonging to a different god. All the gods compete with each other with the help of their family members in the Dungeon. Adventurers enter the dungeon which has several levels and is inhabited by various monsters.
Bell is a 14-year-old boy who belongs to the Hestia family. He enters the dungeon to become a famous hero, however, he is soon attacked by a minotaur. He is saved by level 4 player Ais who later becomes her trainer and love interest.
Bell is mentored by goddess Hestia who develops a feeling for him. Hestia learns that Bell possesses the rare power of Learis Freese which makes him advance to next level quickly while gaining more power and strength. She keeps it a secret from everyone so that other gods do not acquire or harm Bell.
With the help of Hephaistos, Hestia welds a tonto sword (Hestia knife) for bell. The knife is magical and gains magical powers in the hand of bell. However, it is useless if acquired by anyone else.
Bell levels from 1st to 4th very quickly thus breaking the record of Ais. He also befriends Welf crozzo who treats him like a younger brother.
The first season ends with Bell and Ais trapped in 18 level. We are yet to see if they make it through this level.
There is no actual release date of Danmachi Season 2 announced yet but if Hideki finishes the script by mid-2018 then we might see the second season by early 2019. We will update this page as soon as we get more news about Danmachi Season 2.
