Hindi Films Releasing this Friday
Unlike Hollywood where Summer is the season of Blockbuster movies, Bollywood has failed every now and then to set up such trend. In fact Bollywood movies struggle to get viewers at box office during this season. Most critics and film makers blame it on the itching temperature and IPL (Indian Premier League) for not getting any audience. But it is also interesting to note that foreign movies like Furious 7 and The Avengers 2 has performed amazingly well in India during this period. In fact they turned out to be the highest grossing films of the year. Probably Indian Film Makers should focus on the real reason which is creativity.
Past two weeks had been very critical for Bollywood this year. On 15th May 2015, Anurag Kashyap’s highly anticipated film ‘Bombay Velvet’ was released. Starring Ranbir Kapoor in lead role along with Karan Johar and Anushka Sharma, the film turned out to be a box office bomb. For Ranbir Kapoor fans it was a huge disappointment who has not seen a hit film since 2013’s Yeh Jawani hai Deewani.
On 22nd May 2015, We saw the release of Tanu Weds Manu returns which starred the new ‘queen’ of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut. The film turned out to be a sleeper hit. It was sequel 2011 film Tanu Weds Manu but no one expected the sequel to be this better. Kangana surely has gained a huge fan following after another hit.
