June brought two good news for bollywood. The Elections are over. The IPL season is over. So now we can see a long list of Big budget bollywood movies awaiting for their release. While there is still a lot of doubt about Aamir Khan’s PK as the producers earlier said that they are planning to release the film in June 2014. But for now the film is pushed back to a December release. However June still have a package of films with out favorite stars in it. The first friday of June i.e. 6th June 2014 seems to begin the Bollywood Box office battle where each film will compete to become the highest grossing film of the year (or may be of all time). Till Now we have only Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor’s 2 States and Salman Khan’s Jai Ho in the 100 crore club. Kangana Ranaut’s Queen also performed amazingly well on box office.

Here is the list of films that are coming out this friday (6 June 2014)

1. Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty:

Unlike 2012, 2013 was not a lucky year for Akshay Kumar. His three major films Boss and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai dobara failed to impress critics. Though Special 26 got rave reviews but yet it was nothing as compared to 2012’s OMG:Oh My God added with the financial success of Housefull 2,Rowdy Rathore and Khiladi 786. Only Joker was flop at box office.Holiday will be the first film of 2014 for Akshay. Akshay surely wants the film to be a big hit. His second film Its Entertainment hasn’t made a buzz quiet a while so Akshay is hoping that the success of Holiday will also help other film. Holiday also stars Sonakshi sinha and Govinda. Rowdy rathore was released in same month. Lets see if Holiday will rewind the Rowdy magic once again.

2. Filmistaan:

Filmistan is directed by Nitin Katkar. The film was screened at various film festivals in 2012 and 2013 and got rave reviews. The film even won awards at Busaan International Film Festival, International Film Festival of Kerala, It also won the prestigious National Film Award for Best Film. I dont know how it ended up in the release slot in June 2014. But its there. So its good chance for you to see an award winning film in theater this week.

So which film are you going to watch? Do you think Akshay Kumar’s Holiday will become the highest grossing film of the year.
